MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office announced that they have made multiple arrests in connection to a series of telecommunication cable thefts that have occurred over the past year.

Garrett Weeder, 35, of Gans, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey Howell, 38, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania and Saviour McDonald, 25, of Morgantown, each face multiple charges for allegedly taking part in multiple thefts where telecommunication cables were targeted for copper that could be sold to scrap yards for profit.

An additional suspect, Ronald “Buddy” Boyer, 42, originally from Point Marion, Pennsylvania, is wanted on multiple charges, including grand larceny, felony destruction of property, attempted grand larceny, and two counts of felony conspiracy. Boyer is known to frequently stay in the Morgantown area.

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information on these crimes or the whereabouts of Ronald Boyer to come forward. Please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 304-291-7260.

These cases remain active, and the Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation. The Pennsylvania State Police assisted in the investigation.
