CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A fifth person has been arrested in connection to a Harrison County murder that happened in early 2024.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office announced that Taneil Thompson, who turned 18 on Tuesday, had his case moved from juvenile to adult status and has been charged with murder in connection to the kidnapping and shooting death of Dallion Lewis. He joins four other people who have been indicted in relation to the murder that occurred on Jack Run Road in February 2024.
Dennis High, is one of the other four people who have been charged in connection to the incident, he was originally charged with the murder.
Jennifer Kirk was the second person arrested where she allegedly participated in the kidnapping of Lewis by using means of deceit to transport him.
Douglas Steiner, was the third person arrested in relation to the murder approximately two weeks after it occurred after investigators allegedly discovered that he helped High and Kirk conceal evidence.
Kameron Griffin, of Akron, Ohio, was the fourth person arrested and charged for allegedly shooting Lewis twice during the kidnapping. Griffon was arrested approximately three weeks after the incident occurred with the assistance of U.S. Marshals in Ohio.
It’s unclear at this time what role Thompson played in the kidnapping and murder. He is currently in the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail in Hampshire County with no bond set.
