GRAFTON, W.Va. — A Grafton man has been charged for allegedly attacking a woman with a knife over the weekend.
Officers with the Grafton Police Department arrested Steven Barker, 29, of Grafton after they responded to a call on March 1 where an individual requested a domestic violence prevention order due to a fight.
According to a criminal complaint, officers spoke with the victim who stated that Barker allegedly went after her with a buck knife and threatened to cut out her tongue out. Barker also allgedly punched the victim before attempting to cut her with the knife. The victim later showed officers evidence of the alleged assault including bandages on her hands recieved trying to grab the knife away from him. Wounds were also appeared to be visible on the victim’s head.
Barker has been charged with malicious assault. He is being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail on $10,000 bond.
