BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The West Virginia State Police have begun an investigation into what lead a vehicle to cause multiple accidents going in the wrong on direction on Interstate 79.
The accidents were reported on I-79 northbound at 1:50 p.m. on Monday between the Clarksburg and Meadowbrook Mall exits near mile marker 120. According to 911 officials, a vehicle had gotten onto I-79 northbound going the wrong direction and caused multiple accidents resulting in injuries.
Officials stated that “several” vehicles were involved, and traffic was backed up in the area until 3 p.m. on Monday.
No word on how many injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
