MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – A couple of Morgantown residents were sentenced to over six years in federal prison for their roles in a drug trafficking operation.

The United States Attorney’s Office annnounced on Tuesday that Jennifer Clapper, 37, and Jamie Purtee, 33, were setenced for their roles as distributors for a drug organization that originated in Philadelphia.

According to officials, the drug organization’s members transported five to 10 pounds of methamphetamine to Morgantown per trip.

Clapper was sentenced to spend three years and five months in prison while Purtee was sentenced to spend five years.

Following their prison sentences, Clapper and Purtee will serve three years of supervised release.
