LEWIS COUNTY, W.Va. — Troopers from the state police arrested a 33 year Lewis County resident after passing out from drug use while taking care of an infant.
March 16, troopers responded to a residence on High Street in Jane Lew where an infant was in the care of Dylan Sharples.

The person who called police said they attempted to contact Sharples several times and there was no response.
When that person went to the home they observed the one-year-old infant was in a high chair in the living room and Sharples was lying in the bedroom next to a piece of drug paraphernalia.
Once Sharples was awakened he was lethargic, confused and left the residence before troopers arrived.
Troopers tested the smoking device and it returned positive for methamphetamine.
Sharples has been charged with child neglect. He is being held in Central Regional Jail on $30,000 bond.
