CLARKSBURG, W.Va. –– A Michigan man has been ordered to serve nine years in federal prison for the distribution of methamphetamine in the Clarksburg area.

Jason T. (Rock) Scruggs, 42, of Clinton, Michigan, transported large quantities of dangerous drugs from Detroit to Clarksburg. On one trip, Scriggs was caught with 443 grams of methamphetamine and more than 50 grams of fentanyl. Court documents said Scruggs also recruited others to to help sell the drugs.

Scruggs has prior convictions that include firearms offenses, domestic violence, retail fraud, assault with a dangerous weapon, and breaking and entering.

Scruggs has been ordered to serve three years of supervised release following his prison sentence.

The Greater Harrison Drug Task Force conducted the investigation.
