WEST UNION, W.Va. — A March crash that has turned fatal has resulted in charges, according to state police.

The two-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of U.S. Route 50 and W,Va. Route 18 on March 18 when Louis Oswalt, 46 ran a red light and hit a car driven by Angie Campbell

Capbell was taken to United Hospital Center and Later transferred to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown where she died April 4.

Troopers from the West Union detachment of the West Virginia State Police said witness statements said Oswalt ran the red light a hit Campbell’s car.

Troopers found marijuana and several bottles of prescription pills in Oswalt’s car and he tested positive for buprenorphine, benzodiazepines, and cannabinoids.

Oswalt has been charged with driving under the influence causing death and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bail.
