BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. –– The state police are now completing the investigation into the actions of the mayor of the city of Bridgeport.

Troopers from the Bridgeport detachment of the state police said mayor Andy Lang was involved in a verbal altercation with another cuty employee in March.

No details of the investigation have been released.

This investigation comes a week after the firing of city manager Pat Ford. Ford was asked to conduct another investigation into the workplace that ran over budget. The investigation remained confidential until a special meeting was called to review the job performance and potentially terminate Ford.

At that time, mayor Andy Lang was concerned that the investigation had run over budget and the fact that Ford disclosed it prior to the special meeting.

State police said the findings of the investigation will be handed over to the Harrison County Prosecutor’s Office.
