MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Officials at West Virginia University have confirmed the visas of seven students have been revoked by the U.S. federal government.

Director of News Communications, Strategic Communications and Marketing, Shauna Johnson confirmed as of Wednesday, April 9, one student and three alumni from the Morgantown Campus, and three students at WVU Institute of Technology in Beckley had been notified of terminations in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System or SEVIS.

Johnson said in all cases the justification listed was “Name found in criminal records check.”

The institution is working with the students.
