CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A Kingwood resident has admitted to unlawfully possessing a firearm in federal court and could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison.

Pedro Antonio Pacheco, 46, was stopped for a traffic violation when the officer observed the firearm laying on the passenger seat. Due to prior felony drug convictions, Pacheco is prohibited from having firearms.

The West Virginia State Police conducted the investigation.

No sentencing date has been set.
