MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. — The West Virginia Department of Highways will close a portion of southbound Interstate 79 to address the phase one demolition of the Uffington Bridge.
Motorists are expected to see minor delays as a result of a lane closure from the southbound Interstate 79 off ramp at Exit 148 onto Interstate 68 eastbound that will take place starting at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2025, until 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
The ramp will operate with one lane open during that period to allow for the removal of steel beams from the phase one demolition of the Uffington Bridge.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow additional time for their commute. Work is being done at night to minimize the impact on the traveling public.
Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could affect the project schedule.
