GRAFTON, W.Va. — A Taylor County man is facing sexual assault charged after an alleged attack at a party over the weekend.
Officers from the Grafton Police Department made contact with the victim who told them the attack happened the night before at a home on Lincoln Street.
The victim told police she was sleeping in the living room when she woke up with her shorts completely off and William Davis, 19, of Clendenin, was on top of the victim actively engaged in a sexual assault.
When the victim asked Davis what was going on he stood up and watched the victim pick up her shorts.
The victim told other people in the house what had happened and asked for help getting her personal items out of the living room.
Davis had left the living room but returned while the victim’s personal items were being collected. Davis then left the home when the victim told him to leave.
Police returned to the home and questioned Davis who told them he did not remember anything, but said he did have sexual contact with the victim.
Davis has been charged with second-degree sexual assault and is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $75,000 bond.
