FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Marion County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Mannington man for allegedly impersonating an FBI agent after burglarizing a trailer.
Kaleb Rhoades, 33, is accused of breaking into a trailer on Sycamore Hollow Road at approximately 1 a.m. Tuesday morning where he allegedly stole multiple items from the trailer including a pistol. According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, deputies stopped Rhoades in a stolen Ford F-150 near the trailer where he allegedly claimed he was an FBI agent that had a search warrant to enter the trailer he broke into.
According to a criminal complaint, a fake FBI credential was found in the vehicle but Rhoades was unable to showcase a firearm. Deputies later found marijuana and methamphetamines’ as part of a search, with Rhoades also found to have multiple felony convictions as the reasoning for why he was not found with FBI issued sidearm as part of the search.
Rhoades is charged with receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle and burglary and is currently in the North Central Regional Jail with bond set at $200,000.
