FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A 63 year old Fairmont man has been charged with attempted murder after police allege he stabbed a victim with a screwdriver.

Fairmont Police Department were dispatched to Jefferson Street Thursday and determined the victim was stabbed and his left side slashed with a screwdriver.

Police said Michael Gibbons is accused of stabbing the victim near the left temple causing a pucture wound and causing further injury by slashing the victim;s side.

Noinformation has been released about the nature of the dispute.

Gibbons has been charged with attempted murder and attempt to commit a felony and is being held in North Central Regional Jail.
