CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – A Clarksburg resident will serve time in federal prison for selling methamphetamine in Harrison and Lewis Counties.

United States Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of West Virginia announced that Kevin Cayemitte, 36, was sentenced to 300 months in federal prison for two counts of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Cayemitte was originally charged after law enforcement officials recieved a tip that stated that he was selling methamphetamine from multiple locations in both counties.

According to court documents and statements made in court, investigators recovered a package mailed from Los Angeles, California to Cayemitte’s campsite which contained nearly 2,000 grams of methamphetamine. Subsequent searches of properties utilized by Cayemitte resulted in the seizure of more methamphetamine and firearms. Cayemitte had prior drug convictions before being arrested for the two distribution charges.

Cayemitte will serve 4 years of supervised release following his prison sentence.

The case was investigated by the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force.
