MORGANTOWN, WVa. — A Morgantown man is facing charges after being accused of robbing a hot spot and attempting to kidnap an employee.

Police said Keith Bell, 52, of Morgantown, walked into Elle’s Café & Hot Spot barefoot around 1 a.m. Tuesday with a tire iron with his face covered. Bell then went behind the counter, grabbed an employee and forced her to the ground then took $882 from the cash register.

Bell then used cloth or clothing to tie tyhe employee’s hands together and forced her to leave the business with him. Outside, the employee to get free and break away from Bell and flee inside the business.

Bell the allegedly ran back to his vehicle parked at Auto Max across the street on Hartman Run Road.

Morgantown police said they have video surviellance of Bell inside the business three hours prior to the crime.

Bell is charged with robbery and attempted kidnapping and is currently in the North Central Regional Jail on a $75,000 bond.
