MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Morgantown Utility Board (MUB) plans to begin work on North High Street Monday, May 19 and the work is expected to continue for the next four weeks.
MUB crews will replace an 8-inch water line on North High Street. The work requires significant adjustments to normal traffic patterns while crews work between the intersections of upper and lower Prospect streets in front of Boreman Hall South.
The details of the traffic changes are below:
• North High Street closed from Maiden Lane to lower Prospect Street
• The upper exit of the Mountainlair Parking Garage that provides egress to North High Street will be closed
• Prospect Street closed from North High Street to the Mountainlair Parking garage entrance/exit.
Also, Upper Prospect Street will be open to two-way traffic between the Mountainlair Parking Garage and University Avenue. This will permit access to the parking garage as well as the loading docks for the Mountainlair.
The traffic changes will be in effect 24-hours a day through the four week construction period.
The work is part of the City of Morgantown’s Streetscape Project.
