MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — One of the premier events for USA Diving has officially kicked off at the Peak Health Aquatics Center at Mylan Park.

The 2025 iteration of the USA Diving American Cup started on Thursday where over 120 competitors from across the world traveled to the Mountain State to compete. Visit Mountaineer Country CVB President and CEO Susan Riddle encourages Morgantown area residents to drive up to Mylan Park over the next few days, where world-class competition will be showcased until Sunday, June 15.

“There are going to be around 100-120 competitors that will be at Mylan Park,” said Riddle. “It’s a competition that goes between Canada and the United States, and this is the first time it’s been held this far on the east coast.”

According to Riddle, the divers scheduled for the 2025 USA Diving American Cup will be taking part in both solo and team competitions. This includes iterations of freestyle and synchronized events for both men and women that will be hosted in half-hour intervals over the course of four days. The USA Diving American Cup is aimed to reflect similar judging systems and performance formats that are used in national and Olympic-style competitions.

“Most of these individuals are all going to be people who have competed in the Olympics,” said Riddle. “So they’re coming from Canada, they’re coming from Australia, and they’re coming from South Korea.”

Among the 120 competitors who are registered to take part in the 2025 USA Diving American Cup will include Olympic-grade divers from the United States and other countries represented in the global games. According to Riddle, this includes divers representing other countries located in North America as well as countries located in Europe and Asia. Much like in Olympic-style competitions from across the globe, the 2025 American Cup will be used for seedings at future events.

“To see this level of competition is really unique, it’s a very special opportunity (to host this in West Virginia),” said Riddle.

Single-day passes for the 2025 USA Diving American Cup will be on sale starting at $35 per adult, with discounts available for youth, seniors, or members of the military. All-session passes will also be available starting at $125 per person, with group rate discounts for groups as low as 20 available upon request. With a chance to enjoy other Mylan Park amenities as part of the event, Riddle hopes Morgantown area residents take a ride up to Mylan Park and support world-class competitors in the Mountain State.

“We certainly encourage individuals to attend, and our events calendar will have all the information on the USA Diving America’s Cup,” said Riddle. “The general public is encouraged to come and see the competition; it’s going to be really exciting.”
