MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — One person was hurt in a Morgantown structure fire over the Independence Day weekend.

Morgantown firefighters responded just before 5 a.m. Saturday to the three-story 13-unit apartment building on Dille Street Friday.

Within six minutes, firefighters were able to rescue the building residents and three pets.

One resident was transported J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation.

The fire was reported under control at 6:26 a.m.

The building suffered substantial damage.

Fire marshals from the Morgantown Fire Department are conducting the investigation.
