MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. — Progress is being made with restoration efforts in the Clinton Water Association area, and many will get water service back very soon.
The water distribution effort will continue today at the Hornbeck Road Walmart and the Clinton Water Association office at 703 Green Bag Road from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Those who cannot drive and need water are asked to call 681-867-8631.
Representative Patrick Kirby said they repaired a leak in a four-inch line and other leaks in the Bretton Woods area on Friday. Work continues now from Boy Scout Camp Road to the Taylor County line.
“Later this morning everyone north of Gladeville should have water, and we’re going to keep going today,” Kirby said.
As repairs are completed, the crews are required to send water samples for testing to a lab. The process takes 24 hours, so the Boil Water/Conservation Advisory will continue through the weekend.
“We’re still in a boil water advisory because once everyone gets water back, we still have some testing to do, so it looks like the advisory will stay on through the weekend, unfortunately,” Kirby said.
Kirby said they have made additional efforts to get the word out to the customers in the area. In addition to notifications, they have used flyers and door-to-door in some cases.
“We printed out flyers because we had complaints that not everyone was getting updates,” Kirby said. “So, some staff went out, including myself, door-to-door trying to share information with businesses along Route 119.”
