CLARKSBURG, W. Va. — A Harrison County man convicted in an insurance scam has ordered to serve more than seven years in federal prison.

Jesse Levi Pumphrey, 31, of Clarksburg, staged accidents with others, then submitted false insurance claims for medical bills and damage.

Pumphrey will serve 92 months in federal prison for filing false insurance claims.

Court documents said Pumphrey and others staged the accidents in Preston County.

The Office of the Inspector General, FBI, and the West Virginia Insurance Commissioner conducted the investigation.
