FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A judge in Marion County has set bond for the leader of the Pagan Motorcycle Club after a mistrial was declared in his murder trial.
Ryan Lane was the sixth defendant accused in the Oct. 2022 killing of Henry Silver in Carolina. After nine days of testimony and two days of deliberations the jury was unable to reach a verdict leading to the mistrial.
The judge set bond at $500,000 and required a secured amount of $50,000. Additionally, Lane will be ordered to home confinement unless he is working.
During the hearing, the defense made the case that Lane was not a flight risk and his mother and fiancé live in the community. They added that Lane has already served 15 months and should be released while the prosecutor decides what the next steps will be.
A motion to dismiss all charges has been filed, however that won’t be considered until the prosecutor determines what the next steps in the case will be.
The judge tentatively scheduled a retrial for Lane in Jan. of 2026.
