MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Monongalia County Republican Executive Committee is ready to welcome a nationally recognized guest to take part in their annual fundraising event.

The 15th Annual Regan Dinner will be hosted at the Lakeview Golf Resort on Thursday, October 16, starting at 6:00 p.m., where members of the Monongalia County GOP and local political leaders will join together for what is being billed as “A Patriotic Evening of Honor and Inspiration.” Mon County Republican Executive Committee Chair Dale Sparks encourages Monongalia County residents, along with registered Republicans, to grab the fast-selling tickets that include a chance to hear from Fox News personality Johnny “Joey” Jones.

“Ticket sales are going very, very well, we’re really pleased with that, and sponsorships are going well,” said Sparks, encouraging Monongalia County residents to take part. “We have a few of those left over, we’re really excited, and I’m sure we’re going to sell out sooner or later.”

For those who are not familiar with the media personality, Johnny “Joey” Jones previously served in Iraq and Afghanistan as a United States Marine, where he reached the rank of staff sergeant as an EOD technician (bomb disposal specialist) and disarmed close to 80 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) while serving. In 2010, he was forced to retire after he lost both of his legs from stepping on an IED, creating what he has openly called his ‘Alive Day,’ using the attitude of resiliency and courage despite massive adversity to speak on behalf of veteran rights. A message of service to others and the country that he is expected to highlight as part of the Reagan Dinner.

“We’re so excited to have ‘Joey’ coming in and give his patriotic and inspirational speech about his life,” said Sparks. “He’ll be talking about the 15th year of his ‘Alive Day,’ which is what he calls it now because, literally, he should’ve been dead that day when he got blown up in Afghanistan.”

While Jones will be the highlighted speaker for the 15th Annual Monongalia County Republican Executive Committee Reagan Dinner, Sparks also ensured that familiar faces on a state and local level will also be in attendance. This will include familiar faces within the Monongalia County community, such as State Senator Mike Oliverio and Delegate Joe Statler, along with GOP political leaders working in Charleston and other parts of the Mountain State. Those guests will be formally announced in the weeks ahead of the October 16 event.

“It’s going to be a special night with lots of great guests,” said Sparks. “We’re still confirming some of our state and federal officials that will be in attendance, but you can bet this is going to be an all-star GOP lineup that night.”

Tickets to attend the 15th Annual Reagan Dinner will be available for purchase on the Monongalia County Republican Party website, where individual and table seats will be on sale. Sparks also mentioned that sponsorship opportunities are still on sale, with VIP tickets also available to purchase upon request. With a full house expected at the Lakeview Golf Resort on October 16, Sparks encourages anyone interested to purchase their tickets soon.

“You can buy your individual tickets or a full table, and if you’re interested in one of our sponsorships, which includes naming rights and a lot of other perks like VIP passes, contact any of our members,” said Sparks. “We will hook you up immediately.”
