MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. — Emergency responders in Monongalia County mobilized around the western part of the county Wednesday afternoon after a small aircraft made an emergency landing just south of Core.
Officials with MECCA 911 confirmed that the small aircraft landed just before 3:00 p.m. Wednesday near the area of Little Indian Creek Road and Hawkins Run Road. The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department was confirmed to have responded to the scene as well as the River Road Volunteer Fire Department.
According to a press release by the County Sheriff’s Office, the call was received at around 2:44 p.m. with deputies among the first on the scene. No injuries were reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration will lead the investigation and report any related developments into what caused the plane to make an emergency landing.
