MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Morgantown Utility Board is in the process of installing a failing storm line right by the West Virginia University Erickson Alumni Center.
Work officially began on Wednesday after MUB contractors closed the right turning lane of University Avenue at the intersection of Van Voorhis Road in the direction of Star City.
Only one lane is scheduled to be affected, with the closure expected to be completed by Friday, October 24th. The lane closure is necessary while MUB crews replace a failing 15″ storm line with an 18″ storm line. The center lane will be permitted to turn right onto Van Voorhis Road during the partial closure.
According to MUB, the lane closure will be limited to the work hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. All lanes will be open outside of work hours.
