KINGWOOD, W.Va.– A Kingwood resident has been charged after police allege he fired a weapon during an incident at a trailer park in the city.
Friday, deputies with the Preston County Sheriff’s Department responded to the Cozad Trailer Park in Kingwood and observed a firearm outside the front door of a residence.
When deputies made contact with the victim they learned there was a juvenile inside the residence where the firearm was located. The victim was placed in the cruiser for safety reasons.
Deputies then learned Jeremy Delcorpo, 49, was barricading himself in a room inside the home.
Police were able to get the juvenile out of the home and Delcorpo gave up and was taken into custody without incident after deputiesspoke to him for the outside.
Deputies said Delcorpo came home and began yelling and struck the victim in the face. When the victim walked out of the residence Delcorpo followed with the firearm and fired one shot.
