MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Work on the rail-trail in Monongalia and Marion Counties could affect some users this week.
Crews are working on drainage and paving on a five mile section of rail-trail from Opekiska (mile 24) to Pricketts Fort State Park (mile 29). The trail will remain open but users should alert and vigilant while walking in the work zone.
This work will cotinue through the end of November 2025.
The work uis being funded by the Hazel Ruby McQuain Charitable Trust, Monongalia County Commission, Monongalia County American Rescue Plan Act Funds, Berkshire Hathaway Energy Charitable Foundation, Dominion Foundation, First Energy Foundation, Marion County Commission, and donors to the Mon River Trails Conservancy.
