FAYETTE COUNTY, Pa. — Three people died in a Fayette County crash involving a tractor-trailer late Monday afternoon on National Pike.
Pennsylvania State Police responded to the crash on National Pike near Dark Hollow Road at 5:30 p.m.
Troopers said the tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound on National Pike and crossed into the westbound lanes, hitting a Ford pickup head-on, then causing a collision with a Chevrolet Express van.
The drivers of the tractor-trailer and pickup and the front passenger of the van died at the scene. Five other passengers were transported with unspecified injuries.
No names have been released.
National Pike was closed in both directions for several hours during the cleanup and investigation.
The investigation is ongoing.
