ELKINS, W.Va. — A bicylcist in Elkins is dead after being hit while crossing U.S. Route 219 late Thursday afternoon.
West Virginia State Police said Thursday at 5:45 p.m., Mark Spencer, 71, of Elkins, was on a bike trail crossing the highway near the intersection of Route 219 and Harpertown-Gilman Road.
Spencer died at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
