Fairmont man charged after weekend assault with a brick

FAIRMONT, W.Va – A 48-year old Fairmont man has been charged with malicious assault after beating a victim with a brick.

Christopher Dingess was arrested at the Friendship Room after an incident Friday afternoon.

Fairmont police said around 3 p.m. they found the victim covered with blood with multiple cuts on his face.

The victim would not disclose to police who was responsible for the attack, but a witness told police she saw Dingess hit the victim in the head with a brick multiple times.

Dingess is charged with malicious assault and is being held on a $50,000 bond in the North Central Regional Jail.
