GRAFTON, W.Va. — A teacher from Grafton High School has been charged with a misdemeanor for allegedly not reporting the sexual assault of a student.

Grafton High School teacher Christopher Rucker was allgedly told about the assault back in October and failed to report it to authorities.

State law requires secondary school employees, like Rucker to report sexually abused children. The reports are required to be made to the state’s department of health and human resources, or police/public safety officials.

Reports indicate Rucker has been removed from his position until a court decision is rendered.

No trial date has been set.
