CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A suspicious vehicle report in Morgantown resulted in the arrest of a Clarksburg suspect for possession of fentanyl with intent to deliver.

State police observed Paul Mathis, 43 on Chestbut Street near Pour Choices and began the investigation.

When Mathis was searched troopers found paraphernalia used to smoke narcotics, a white substance, and several small blue stamps.

Police determined the 198 individually wrapped stamps in his possession was fentanyl.

Police said the white substance field tested as methamphetamine and the blue stamps tested positive for fentanyl.

Mathis is being held in the North Central Regional Jail on a $20,000 bond.
