BARRACKVILLE, W.Va.—Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Barrackville man; he was involved in a fight with his son that resulted in injury.
On November 21, deputies met with a group of children, and one said he had been in a fight with his father that resulted in a call to police.
The child of Larry Broadwater, III, 37, showed deputies scratches and red marks on several areas of his face he said were caused during the incident.
The child told deputies Broadwater threw a saltshaker at him, grabbed him, and wrapped his arm around his neck.
Broadwater told police he was in a physical altercation but only used enough force to restrain the juvenile. The altercation occurred when Broadwater would not let the child go to the gym. He also told deputies the injuries to the child were the result of a fall, not the physical altercation.
Broadwater has been charged with child abuse resulting in injury and is being held on an $80,000 bond in the North Central Regional Jail.
