Suspicious fire under investigation in Mon County, one arrested

MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va.. — An unidentified person is in custody following a suspicious blaze on Dawson Road early Monday.

Membersof the River Road Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire at 3 a.m. As crews made their way to the scene dispatchers told first responders there was also a camper trailer was also on fire very close to anearby residence.

Volunteers put several fires at the scene that were determined to be intentionally set.

One person was apprehended at the scene.

The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting in the investigation.
