One arrested following Marion County suspected arson, burglary

MARION COUNTY, W.Va – Deputies in Marion County have arrested a 24 year old man accused stealing a safe from a home and setting it on fire.

Ulrick Burdette entered the home early Sunday evening to take the safe. After taking the safe from Pricketts Fort Road home and fled the scene.

Fire crews spent about three hours battled the fire for about three hours.

The home is reportedly a total loss.

Ulrick Burdette has been charged with first-degree arson and burglary. He is currently being held in the North Central Regional Jail awaiting arraignment.
