Antero facility closed for evaluation, no timeline set to reopen

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – In order to conduct an evaluation of the facility on the Doddridge/Ritchie County line Antero Resources has shut down the $300 million water treatment facility.

The company is conducting the evaluation to to determine cost effectiveness in a low comodity price environment.

No timeline has been set for the evaluation.

During the sutdown, water from drilling will be blended with fresh water and reused or sent to injection wells.

The plant has 25 permanent employees, 25 supply chain employees and is capable of producing more than 41,000 barrels of fresh water each day.
