Arizona man faces drug charges after traffic stop

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. – A subject from Arizona was arrested during a routine traffic stop after police found more than five ounces of marijuana.

Bridgeport police stopped the car driven by Brandon Scott, 30, of Tucson, Arizona, at mile marker 122 on I-79 for hitting the rumble strips, swerving and driving below the minimum speed limit. When police made contact with Scott they noticed a partially smoked marijuana cigarette in the center console.

During a search of the car police found two bags containing 43 grams of marijuana, a vacuum sealer and two sets of scales.

When police searched the room Scott was staying in at the Hampton Inn police recovered a pistol and four more bags of suspected marijuana totalling 124 grams.

Scott has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
