Debbie Warner wins GOP nomination for 82nd District W.Va. House of Delegates seat

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The wife of West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner, will represent the Republican party in the general election of the 82nd District of the West Virginia House of Delegates.

Debbie Warner, defeated candidates Drew Talbott and former State Delegate Cindy Frich in the 2022 Primary Election with over fifty percent of the votes according to the Monongalia County Clerk’s Office. Warner, a longtime realtor in North Central West Virginia, is ready to move towards the next step ahead of the upcoming 2022 General Election.

“I was obviously very pleased with the results,” said Warner after the results were released. “We worked hard and I was fortunate to have a great team of folks working with me, we’re looking forward to November,” she said.

Warner had the most financial contributions in comparison to her two opponents in the 2022 Primary Election. Warner received financial support from eight political action committees (PACs) and four individuals that totaled close to seventy-five percent of her campaign’s funds. Even with the large amounts of donations, she stated she learned a lot from voters on the campaign trail.

“A lot of things I was hearing was the roads,” said Warner on what she heard from voters. “A lot of concern on the condition of the roads, that and broadband internet, in some areas, a lack of cell service,” she said.

Warner also received endorsements from the Monongalia County Chamber of Commerce as well as Governor Jim Justice in her campaign. Despite the endorsements and financial contributions, the efforts to reach voters will continue ahead of the 2022 General Election with issues expected to be unchanged for 82nd district voters ahead of November.

“You hear about the condition of the roads, I’m often asked about schools and education, I’m asked about taxes and just infrastructure questions,’ she said.

In the 2022 General Election, Debbie Warner will face author Katie Fallon, who ran unopposed on the Democratic ballot.
