Effort launched to purchase K-9 in Clarksburg

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – The Clarksburg Police Department has launched a fundraising campaign to purchase a K-9 officer.

The goal of $7,500 must be raised in the next 17 days. So far, the department has raised about $3,000.

The addition will increase the departments ability to detect drugs and deter crime, according to Clarksburg Police Chief Mark Kiddy.
