Eleven foot python recovered in Nicholas County

RICHWOOD, W.Va. – A postal carrier in Richwood led police to an 11-foot python this week.

The snake was found about one block away from where it went missing about one month ago. Richwood residents had been alerted by police to watch out for small children and house pets.

The snake escaped the tank and broke through a screen window recently.

The snake has been returned to the owner. Officials have asked the owner to reinforce the holding area and register the snake with state officials.

The 15-foot python lost in Morgantown back in May is still on the loose.
