Emergency landing reported at North Central West Virginia Airport

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – A small business jet made an emergency landing at the North Central West Virginia Airport Wednesday afternoon around 3:15.

Airport Deputy Director Shawn Long says the Airport Response Team and Bridgeport Fire Department were on the ground waiting.

Long Said,”Their aircraft batteries had started overheating and had taken signs of smoke within the cabin.”

The four passengers and pilot were not hurt.

Long praised the work of the first responders.

Long said,”We have a great community with all the different departments and great relationships with them. When situations like this occur we always know they’re here to help.”
