Fairmont man arrested for soliciting a minor

FAIRMONT, W.Va– State Police have arrested a Fairmont man who was trying to solicit a minor online.

Joseph Vincent, 31, was allegedly communicating with what he believed to be a 14-year-old girl. Troopers with the WV State Police Crimes Against Children Unit worked in conjunction with the Gilipn County, Colorado Sheriff’s Department began investigating Vincent when he exposed himself and chats turned sexual in nature. Troopers searched his home and seized digital evidence including chats, photos and videos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Vincent admitted to police he had chatted sexually with underage girls numerous times, while exposing himself to them and requesting they do the same.

Vincent is charged with two counts of soliciting a minor via computer, two counts of use of obscene matter with intent to seduce a minor and one count of distribution and exhibiting material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. He was arraigned and placed on $100,000 cash or surety bond.
