Fairmont woman charged with child neglect

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Police in Fairmont say a traffic accident resulted in a child neglect arrest.

Officers responded to a single-vehicle accident with injuries on Mary Lou Retton Drive and began to talk to the driver, Hailey Zembraski. Zembraski was flailing her arms and was unable to tell police where she was.

Police found a five-year-old in the car, Zembraski told police there was a three-year-old at home with the father.

When police went to the home they found the toddler locked in a bedroom.

The children told workers from the Marion County Child Advocacy Center that when their parents left many times they locked them in their bedroom.

Zembraski has been arrested for child neglect creating risk of injury.
