Fairmont woman killed in accidental shooting

FAIRMONT,W.Va. – Fairmont police say Malinda Broyles, 45 was accidentally shot in the neck around 9 p.m. Friday in an apartment in the 1900 block of Morgantown Avenue.

Police say Gene McIntosh, 34, was handling a rifle when it accidentally went off. McIntosh has been charged with wanton endangerment.

Three children ages 8, 15 and 17 were in the house when police officers arrived. Police say the children have reffered to the appropriate agencies.

McIntosh is in the North Central Regional Jail awaiting an initial court appearance.
