FCI Hazelton inmate indicted for alleged officer assault

CLARKSBURG —   Daivon Duren, an inmate at FCI Hazelton Federal Correctional Institution, was indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday on an assault charge, U.S. Attorney Bill Powell announced.

Duren, 32, was indicted on one count of assault of a correctional officer involving physical contact. He is accused of assaulting a corrections officer while the officer was on duty in November 2018.

Duren faces up to eight years incarceration and a fine of up to $250,000.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon S. Flower is prosecuting the case.
