Grafton resident rescued from roof of burning home

GRAFTON, W.Va. – Despite the efforts of multiple fire departments a home on Ross Street was lost to fire Thursday, but the homeowner was able to get.

The home owner went back into the home to attempt to rescue pets and became trapped on the roof. Reports indicate neighbors helped the homeowner escape from the roof with a ladder.

Firefighters from Anmoore, Bunners Ridge, Fellowsville, Flemington, Nutter Fort, Winfield and Worthington fire departments were dispatched at 1:13 p.m. and arrived to find the structure ablaze.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause has not been determined.
