Greenbrier County organization wins free online marketing help for a year

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The Family Refuge Center in Lewisburg is the winner of this year’s Frank Brown Community Partnership which is an annual contest from Bricks Without Straw, an internet marketing firm based in Charleston.

The prize is free digital marketing services like website design, either initial development or redevelopment, along with social media marketing for a year.

Jamie Summers-Brown, president of Bricks Without Straw, said the community-based domestic violence and sexual assault center was selected out of many applications submitted at the end of 2017.

The Family Refuge Center’s mission statement includes a commitment to end physical, sexual and emotional abuse in families throughout southern West Virginia and to encourage and promote healthy family life based on mutual respect and support for all family members.

The Center has offices in several West Virginia counties: Greenbrier, Mercer, Monroe and Pocahontas.

The organization provides direct services to domestic violence victims with crisis intervention, advocacy, continuing support, community education and outreach programs.

This is the 5th year for the Frank Brown Community Partnership from Bricks Without Straw.

The contest is open to charities approved for operations in West Virginia with a headquarters within the Mountain State’s borders.

Past winners have included the Secret Santa Foundation along with the Bob Burdette Center, Children’s Therapy Clinic and Manna Meal.
