Harrison County man admits to selling meth near playground

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – A Harrison County man faces up to 40 years in prison after admitting to the sale of methamphetamine near the Jackson Park Playground in February of 2017.

U.S. attorney Bill Powell says John Robert Lyons, 46, of Salem, has entered a guilty plea to one count of distribution of methamphetamine in proximity to a protected location. The maximum for the offense is 40 years behind bars and up to a $2 million fine. Under Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the sentence imposed will be based on the seriousness of the offense and any prior criminal history.

The matter was investigated by the Greater Harrison Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative.
