Harrison County Sheriff’s Department canine unit involved in Route 50 crash

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – Clarksburg, W.Va. According to Clarksburg Police Chief Mark Kiddy, the department is investigating a three-vehicle crash involving a Harrison County Sheriff’s Department canine unit.

The accident happened just after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday on Route 50 near the interchange with I-79.

“A Chevy Silverado pickup truck rearended a Fisher Auto Parts delivery vehicle, and that collision caused the Fisher Auto Parts vehicle to hit the rear of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department canine vehicle,” Kiddy said.

The driver of the Fisher Auto Parts vehicle was examined at a local hospital. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

“The officer was fine,” Kiddy said. “They were taking the dog to the veterinarian, but he seemed fine.”
